Philosophy of Education

Christian Heritage is founded on the premise that the only complete education is Christian education. This premise is based on the fact that only Christian education deals with all the dimensions of life from a biblical perspective. It is our goal to provide those things that will promote the development of each student's soul, mind, and body in order that they might become productive, responsible citizens to God, country, and society.

We have two basic goals for our students: to be spiritually prepared to face life with confidence through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and to be academically prepared to successfully handle future educational challenges.

Primary Objectives

  • Give God the glory in all things
  • Lead non-christians to Christ by teaching and example
  • Perpare students for leadership in the church and community
  • Develop an understanding of one;s unique responsibility to God and to one another
  • Help Students develop their individual abilities
  • Equip each student with the ability to communicate clearly, logically and efficiently through reading, writing, speaking and listening.
  • Teach the fundamentals of Bible, language arts, math, social studies, science and technology
  • Enable each child to develop a system of values based on biblical principals
  • Provide opportunities for students to learn to act in a socially acceptable manner
  • Encourage creativity and curiosity
  • Teach the fundamentals of physical fitness, nutrition and hygiene
  • Encourage an appreciation of the arts

Our Beliefs

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative word of God
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily  resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in his personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe that salvation comes only through repentance and belief in Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that they are either saved unto the resurrection of eternal life in heaven, or that they are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation in hell.
  • We believe in the Spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

School Policy Statement

Christian Heritage is an integral and inseparable part of the ministries of the University Boulevard Church of the Nazarene. The policies of the school are determined by the controlling authority of the local congregation. Parents are expected to cooperate fully with the school policies as set forth in the official school handbook.

Report Child Abuse

If a child abuse is alleged to have occurred at Christian Heritage, it is every staff member's responsibility to report it to the Administration, Preschool Director, or Extended Care Director. Additional procedures are outlined in the Christian Heritage Policy manual and staff manuals.  An administrator will file the report with the ABUSE Hotline.
